Ballymaloe Good Living Day & Ballymaloe Lucky 5K Run

The Ballymaloe Good Living Day 2018 is set to bring the importance of health & wellbeing to life and for 2018 it is being hosted by TV3’s Deric O’hArtagain & Rachel Allen. It promises to be another vibrant, fun filled & informative day of engaging and inspiring health and wellness events for the whole family. An Tanaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Simon Coveney will also be present on the day.
This year's event features a programme bursting with fun and engaging activities to benefit the whole family in wellness of mind, body and spirit. Expect cooking demonstrations hosted by Rachel Allen from Melissa Hemsley, James Kavanagh & William Murray from Curabinny foods, Lilly Higgins, the inspirational Jack Crotty from Rocket Man will present ‘Vegetables: A Center Plate' and Lean Mean Momma 'Fun Family Brekkie Ideas'. If fitness is your thing, then you can choose from a class with Fitness World Champ Claire McGrath; Yoga with Instagram star Cat Bradley or take part in the annual 5K Lucky fun run or more;
Engaging talks range from the Dublin Science Museum on vaccines, renowned child psychologist and regular contributor to the Newstalk Sean Moncrieff Show, David Carey on ‘raising resilient children’. Domini Kemp will be sharing her learnings on the science of nutrition in a talk entitled ‘Food and Cancer’ and John Lonergan, former prison governor of Mount Joy Prison will be sharing his tips on 'How to be Happy & Content.'
For the children, the Big Shed Children's area returns focussing on the subject of recycling and offering a timetable of activities and events throughout the day. From getting involved in creating a recycling art installation to garden walks, seed planting and smoothie making, there is something for every child.
Garden Tours will be hosted by Ballymaloe's Head Gardener Mags Coughlan at 11.15 and 15.15 from the welcome tent and the BIG SHED will be offering a range of fresh and locally produced food stalls throughout the day.
