Bedroom Rate Terms

  1. Our rates are quoted per room, per night, based on double or twin occupancy (two adults). All rates include breakfast and are inclusive of VAT.

Deposit Terms

A valid credit card is required to secure every reservation. A 10% non-refundable deposit is taken at the time of booking. Ballymaloe House Hotel gift cards and Ireland’s Blue Book vouchers are not accepted for deposit payments. For online bookings, card details are entered on a secure, encrypted page. If we cannot validate your card, the reservation will be deemed null and void.

Cancellation policy

Cancellations or modifications must be made at least 7 days before your scheduled arrival to avoid charges. For cancellations within 7 days of arrival, or in the event of a no-show, the first night’s accommodation will be charged to the card provided at booking. The deposit remains non-refundable. If you depart earlier than planned, the remaining accommodation will be charged in full. Some packages have different cancellation terms (14, 21, or 28 days), which are stated clearly at the time of booking.

 

Advance Purchase Rate
Advance purchase rate is non-refundable in the event of cancellation. Full payment of the total accommodation cost is taken at the time of booking. The rate is non-transferable, and no changes are permitted.

 

New Year Sale Bookings
Bookings made during our New Year Sale require a 20% non-refundable deposit, taken at the time of booking. After the sale ends, bookings cannot be transferred at the sale rate. If you request a change, you will be offered the best available rate at the time of amendment. One transfer is permitted per individual booking. Any additional transfers will result in the original deposit being forfeited.

 

Group bookings

Reservations of five rooms or more are considered group bookings. Please call us on +353 21 465 2531 or email reservations@ballymaloehouse.com Group bookings require at least 21 days’ notice for cancellation or reduction in rooms to avoid a charge equivalent to one night’s accommodation.

Third-party cancellations

No-Show Policy

If a reservation has not been cancelled and is deemed a no-show, the full amount of the stay will be charged to the card provided at the booking stage, and the reservation will be cancelled.

 

Accessibility and Bedroom Access

All bedrooms in the Main House are accessed by stairs only. Ground-floor bedrooms are available in the Courtyard for guests who require step-free access. If you have mobility limitations, please contact us on +353 21 465 2531 or email reservations@ballymaloehouse.com

Bedroom damage or spoilage

Ballymaloe House Hotel reserves the right to charge guests for any damage – accidental, negligent or deliberate, to bedrooms. Charges may include deep-cleaning costs and any loss of revenue while the room is unavailable for sale.

Family Rooms and Supplements

We have a very limited number of family bedrooms. Please contact us directly to discuss your requirements. Family rooms accommodate two adults and two children under 12 years of age.

 

Children Supplement
Children aged 0 to 2 years stay free of charge in a travel cot when sharing with two adults. For children aged 2 to 12 years sleeping on a rollaway bed, a €75 supplement applies per night. For children aged 12 years and over, a €125 supplement applies per night for an extra bed. Children’s breakfast is included in these supplement rates.

Table Reservations

Dining Deposits

To secure a table, we require valid credit or debit card details at the time of booking.

No deposit is taken when the reservation is made, but our cancellation policy is 24 hours for tables of up to 5 guests, and 72 hours for groups of 6 guests or more.

 

By providing card details, you authorise Ballymaloe House Hotel to charge a cancellation fee in line with the policy below, if applicable.

 

Cancellation Policy & Charges 

Reservations for 1 to 5 guests: If you cancel within 24 hours of your reservation time, a fee of €20 per person will apply. Reservations for 6 guests or more: If you cancel within 72 hours of your reservation time, a fee of €20 per person will apply.

 

If your party size reduces within the cancellation notice period above, Ballymaloe House Hotel reserves the right to apply the cancellation fee to the reduced number of guests.

 

No-shows

If you do not arrive for your reservation, a charge of €20 per person will apply.

Gift Voucher Policy

Gift vouchers are available for purchase in person, by phone, and online. Electronic gift vouchers can be used in the same way as traditional physical cards. Ballymaloe House gift vouchers can be exchanged for goods and services at Ballymaloe House Hotel, Ballymaloe Grainstore, Ballymaloe Cookery School (towards cookery courses only), and the Ballymaloe Shop & Café. If you would like a physical gift card sent to the purchaser or recipient of an electronic voucher, please contact us at info@ballymaloehouse.com to arrange this.

 

Gift vouchers must be redeemed for their stated purpose only. They cannot be exchanged for cash and are non-refundable. Redemption is strictly subject to availability.

Vouchers are the sole responsibility of the holder. Ballymaloe House Hotel accepts no responsibility for lost, mislaid, or damaged vouchers. Altered or damaged vouchers will not be accepted.

 

Monetary value vouchers can be used across multiple transactions; however, cash refunds are not permitted. If a balance remains after use, a new voucher will be issued for the outstanding amount. Experiential gift vouchers (e.g. accommodation or dining vouchers) are valid for a single use only and are redeemable for the specified experience. The value of these vouchers is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. If the cost of the experience increases after this period, the price difference will apply.

 

Advance bookings are essential. All vouchers are valid for 5 years from the date of issue. Ballymaloe House Hotel is not liable for lost or stolen vouchers.

Online voucher purchases are facilitated by In1 Solutions, Gifting Technologies, with an office at Rathbeale Road, Swords, Co. Dublin, on behalf of Ballymaloe House Hotel. Terms and conditions apply to all vouchers purchased online.

 

By purchasing a voucher online, the purchaser and recipient agree to be bound by the full terms and conditions of voucher purchase, and by the relevant terms and conditions of the booking process where applicable.

 

Data collection and use are subject to the privacy policies of both Ballymaloe House Hotel and the voucher system provider. Personal data is collected solely to complete or support voucher purchases or the reservation process. This data is not used for any other purpose and is never shared with third parties without permission. In the Republic of Ireland, under Irish law, vouchers and unused balances expire five years from the date of issue for vouchers purchased on or after 2nd December 2019. In other countries, vouchers and unused balances may expire one year from the date of issue, where permitted by local law.
