Maintaining The Great Outdoors

We all take great pride in managing, cultivating and rewilding the grounds around Ballymaloe House estate. As such, we place a huge emphasis on biodiversity, wildlife welfare and nature preservation, across everything we do.

We have also done a lot to ensure that our guests get to enjoy it all. For example, we have created a number of different walking trails along the river, our woodland paths and the meadow.

From detailed maps to guided tours, there are a number of ways for you to see everything. All you have to do is talk to us in reception about how best to explore them.

Be At One With Nature

The grounds around our historic country house are a combination of gardens, woodlands and farmland. Some of it has been designed for re-wilding, with an emphasis placed on biodiversity, wildlife welfare and nature preservation.

Over the years, we have successfully cultivated a number of different ecosystems and initiatives within them. Today, you can take a stroll or a cycle through the grounds and see our wilding plantations, pollinator planting, owl breeding boxes and beehive sanctuary.
