Ballymaloe Festival of Food

Ireland’s Premier Food Festival

World-class culinary weekend

For the third year, the Ballymaloe Festival of Food will celebrate Irish food, seasonal cooking, and the people behind it. Set in East Cork, in the heart of Ireland’s Ancient East, the festival brings together chefs, producers, and cooks to explore the journey of great food from farm to table in a relaxed and welcoming setting.

Over the course of the weekend, visitors can enjoy world-class chefs, delicious food, hands-on cookery and cocktail workshops, wine and cocktail tastings, walks, talks, and some of the very best local food producers.

James Henry Pop-Up Dinner

Friday, May 15th

James Henry of Le Doyenné, located 40 km south of Paris, will join our chefs for a very special dining experience on the opening night of the festival. Dinner will be served from 7.00pm, with tickets priced at €150 per person.

Set within the historic grounds of the Château de Saint-Vrain, Le Doyenné is a restaurant, guesthouse and farm shaped by a deep respect for food, place and seasonality. Chefs and owners James Henry and Shaun Kelly, together with the Mortemart family, have lovingly restored the property and brought to life the restaurant and farmhouse of their dreams.

In the potager, regenerative farming practices have been revived to grow heirloom vegetables that form the foundation of their cooking. The evening promises a very special menu, offering a dining experience not to be missed.

Thomasina Miers Pop-Up Lunch

Sunday, May 17th

Writer and MasterChef winner Thomasina Miers will join our team for a special Sunday lunch during the Festival of Food. Taking place from 12.30pm to 2.00pm, tickets are €90 per person.

Thomasina has worked in Michelin-starred kitchens and spent time living in Mexico. In 2007, she co-founded Wahaca, the acclaimed restaurant group celebrated for both its food and its commitment to sustainability. Carbon neutral since 2016, with a menu that is half vegetarian and entirely delicious, Wahaca reflects Thomasina’s vibrant and thoughtful approach to cooking.

For this special lunch, Thomasina will create a menu that reflects that same vibrant and thoughtful approach.
