Busy summer at Ballymaloe Country House Hotel

After a wonderfully busy summer at Ballymaloe House some of the front of house staff was treated to a day out! The weather was on our side so we headed off to experience East Cork's newest attraction- a guided tour of the Ballycotton Lighthouse Island.

Blessed with a calm day, Peter, our extremely informative guide, took us across the calm water on the "Yassy", the official tour boat! Peter led the group around the 7 acre island while explaining its history. Along the way we enjoyed and admired outstanding views of Ballycotton and the East Cork coastline. We were all thrilled by the experience and look forward to recommending it to our future guests. There is already great excitement amongst the staff who are thinking about where we go next!!

However, that was not my only recent work outing. Earlier in the Summer Hazel Allen, Rachel - my front of house colleague - and I were invited to visit the Jameson Heritage Centre in Midleton. After some delicious cocktails we were privileged to be the first guests to view the newest addition to their already brilliant tour. We had a fantastic time and I would certainly recommend a visit. The tour was very impressive and we are now going to incorporate a visit to the Jameson Distillery, as well as Jameson cocktails, into some of our accommodation packages at Ballymaloe House. For more information on this and more new packages please see the rates page on this website.

Staff included in the photos: Rachel from reception, Susie, Ava & Pradeep from the dining room, Samuel & Oliver form the wine cellar, Thomas from the bar and me!!
