Ballymaloe as a group Ballymaloe Foods, Ballymaloe House and the Ballymaloe Cookery School were therefore thrilled and proud to be the lead sponsors for BirdWatch Ireland's 30th winter Irish Garden Bird Watch Survey which started on 3rd December 2018. In March 2019, Ballymaloe House invited guests and locals to join in a series of BirdWatch Ireland events in and around the house. Ballycotton wetlands is a highly respected SPA (Special Protected Area) for birdwatching and ornithologists Niall Hatch (BIrdWatch, Dublin) and Paul Moore (BirdWatch, Cork) hosted extremely interesting walks and talks at Ballymaloe House and at the Ballynamona, Ballycotton site.
