Ballymaloe House have opened a ‘Pop-Up Christmas Wine Shop’ in the bar of The Grainstore, on Saturdays and Sundays from now until Christmas, selling a selection of wines from our award winning wine cellar. The wine cellar at Ballymaloe was started by the late Mr. Ivan Allen, 50 years ago this year, when Ballymaloe opened in 1964, a tradition continued by his son-in-law Jim Whelan and grandson Sacha Whelan (see link here to the cellar)Consultant sommelier Colm will be on hand to advise on wine for whatever the occasion or menu, or for that special gift for the wine lover in your life this Christmas. There will also be a great selection of larger bottles available – always a great present.There is lots to see and do in the area, including Ballymaloe House for lunch & dinner, and vouchers for Christmas, Ballymaloe House Shop - started over 40 years this year, and the Ballymaloe Shop Cafe for delicious morning coffee, light lunches, and afternoon tea and also the Farm Shop at Ballymaloe Cookery School. Enjoy your time in Shanagarry with a walk on the beach afterwards maybe.
