The 5th Ballymaloe Litfest - A Food and Drinks Literacy Festival took place on Friday May 19th to Sunday May 21st 2017 throughout a variety of venues at Ballymaloe House and the Ballymaloe Cookery School, Ballymaloe Grainstore, The Big Shed and the Ballymaloe walled garden.
Ballymaloe appeared to be one of the few places in Ireland the sun shined and we welcomed thousands of visitors to East Cork, including national and international authors, chefs, foragers, educators, beer, spirits and wine experts, gardeners, publishers, filmmakers, scientists, TV presenters, bloggers and journalists, as well as the general public.
Running through the heart of this year’s festival, the stimulating symposium welcomed top-class national and international speakers gathering to discuss and debate the important question of 'Our Responsibility.'Ballymaloe LitFest has become a fixture on foodie calendars and an important hub for enthusiasts of food and wine writing worldwide to meet and share ideas with each other.
