Colm McCan grew up in Co. Tipperary in his family home with a 250 year old wine cellar. Since then Colm has been interested in ‘anything wine’ and has worked in five star hotels and restaurants both in Ireland and overseas. Colm joined Ballymaloe in 1995 as a sommelier, a position that won him much praise from patrons and peers alike.
Colm is now the consultant sommelier of Ballymaloe and is responsible for the wine list, the wine cellar and wine events. Colm is also the head wine lecturer at the Ballymaloe Cookery School.
When not in the cellar, Colm can be found among the vines at the Ballymaloe Cookery School!
