Cooking Break

Bake a Loaf of Irish Soda Bread
Since Myrtle Allen opened Ballymaloe House in 1964, her ethos has been to use the best of local ingredients to make simple, delicious food. Our menu changes daily and is compiled according to what is available. We are situated on a 400-acre farm from which we source much of our produce including eggs, vegetables, pork, and fruit. What we don’t produce ourselves we get from local farmers. We are about 4 miles from Ballycotton, the local fishing village, where we get freshly caught fish straight from the pier.
We now offer our guests an opportunity to come into the kitchens at Ballymaloe to learn how to make some of our favorite recipes. Ballymaloe soda bread is one such recipe; a traditional Irish bread that we make daily. Learn the story behind Ballymaloe soda bread, and the trick to making a tasty, light, crusty loaf.
From $218 per person, this package includes dinner, and bed and breakfast for one night.
Offer is available Monday to Friday with bread making in the morning.
