From Cork Airport we recommend catching a taxi or hiring a car.

Taxi: you can catch a taxi from the taxi ranks outside, currently you can expect to pay around 60 euros.

By Car: Coming out of the airport, turn left onto the main road, heading east towards the N25. Exercise extreme caution on the large roundabout (Kinsale Road Roundabout) at the bottom of the hill. Take the 4th exit, heading east on the N25. This will eventually take you through the Jack Lynch tunnel. At the roundabout after the tunnel, take the third exit, again heading east on the N25. Remaining on the N25 for about 10 miles until the next roundabout (outside Midleton). Here, take the third exit to the right (signposted Whitegate). After a quarter of a mile turn left, then immediately left again, following the signs to Cloyne and Ballymaloe House. Two miles beyond Cloyne, on the Ballycotton road (at a crossroad) is the front entrance to Ballymaloe House.

Cork Public Transport

Bus: Bus Eireann, Ireland's national bus company, provides a regular Air Coach bus service from Cork Airport to Cork's Parnell Place Bus Station throughout the week. Journey time from the airport into the City centre is approximately 30 minutes. All departures serve Evergreen Road and Cork Airport Business Park. Distance from the Airport to the City is 8 kilometres.

You will need to change buses at the bus station. To catch a bus to Ballymaloe House, get on one for Ballycotton. These leave at 9am, 3:30pm and 6:15pm. Ask the driver to drop you at Ballymaloe House. It takes roughly 1 hour and 15 minutes.Telephone: +353 21 4508188 or check out www.buseireann.ie

On Public Holidays, including St. Stephen's Day (December 26th) all Cork City services, including route 226 Air Coach services to Cork Airport, operate according to the Sunday schedule.

Train: There are no trains from the airport directly to Ballymaloe House.

From Dublin Airport: print this page

Dublin Airport is located about 10 km north of Dublin city centre, near the M50 and M1 motorways.
Dublin is a 4-5 hour drive to Ballymaloe House.

Connecting Flights: A flight from Dublin to Cork is the fastest route, taking only 50 minutes.
Tickets can be very cheap if booked far enough in advance, try Ryanair or Aer Lingus.

By Car: It takes 4-5 hours to get from Dublin to Cork.
Take the N8 motorway and follow the signs south for Cork. Once at the roundabout outside of Cork, take the N25 heading east (signposted for Rosslare and Waterford). Then follow the directions on our map, or the second part of the directions from Cork Airport.

Shannon Airport is 2.5 to 3 hour drive to Ballymaloe House. Most American flights arrive into Shannon.

From Rosslare Ferry: print this page

Take the N25 through Waterford, Dungarvan, Youghal. At the roundabout coming into Midleton, take the first exit, left, signposted Whitegate. Then follow the 3rd part of the directions given above from Cork airport.
