Voci Nuove is a twenty-four person mixed-voice chamber choir based in Cork.
In Spring 2013 they completed their first series of concerts in Cork, Ennis, and Galway entitled ‘Pitches be Crazy’. Inspired by the tremendous reception received, the group began competing, winning several categories at Cork's Feis Maitiu. They were awarded second place in the Sacred and Chamber choir categories at the Cork International Choral Festival, and also won the John Mannion Perpetual Trophy.
In October 2013 they competed at the City of Derry's Inaugural International Choral Festival where they were awarded first prize in both the International category and National Sacred Music category.
In November 2013, the choir traveled to Vienna for their first choral exchange, hosted by Amerlingchor. The group has worked closely with The King's Singers and recently, with San Francisco-based choir Chanticleer who ended their European Tour in Cork this February at the Opera House, where Voci Nuove opened the show. You may have caught them recently on RTE'sToday Show where they performed for the Valentine’s Day celebrations.
They are currently preparing for their 2014 Spring Concert Series and will be competing in the Fleischmann International Competition and at the Cork International Choral Festival in May.
