Easterly winds will waft over East Cork on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 April as the first annual Ballymaloe Easter Fair unfurls over two days of springtime fun for children and adults. Kids are encouraged to wear their wellies and get their hands dirty while participating in a variety of nature-based activities. They'll paint, plant and decorate during a one-hour Craft Workshop, and search for nature's treasures during a Forest Scavenger Hunt in the woodlands behind Ballymaloe House. The Big Shed is the hub of the Ballymaloe Easter Fair, and will be blooming with fabulous food and a spring market. There's plenty of shopping, seating, and a children's play area inside the massive old farm building. In keeping with Easter's celebration of new life, lambs, calves and chicks will frolic at the Fair, and other home-spun displays and activities are planned. Children's tickets are €15 and include the Craft Workshop, Forest Scavenger Hunt and an Easter treat. Workshops take place on the hour from 10am - 4pm. Advance booking is highly recommended as spaces are limited. Adults and parking are free. It's safe to put all your spring family outing eggs in one basket, so hop by the egg-stra special Ballymaloe Easter Fair. Be a good egg and bring your peeps to Shanagarry, Co. Cork on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 April - they will be 'good hare days'. [And that's the end of the bad puns!]
