Food & Wine magazine describe The Kerrygold Ballymaloe Food & Wine festival as The Ultimate Foodie Fest in their May 2015 issue.  
 
An article packed with a tempting taste of what is to be expected this year. Food & Wine editor Miriam Atkins and Christine Muhlke, Executive Editor of Bon Appetit will be in discussion with Nicholas Lander to talk abou their industry in The Carrigaun Room at Ballymaloe House during the Litfest.

David Prior, ex-Chez Panisse, travel eater / writer wrote this article about Mrs Allen and Ballymaloe for the Wall Street Journal Magazine. 
 
In an extract he quotes Mrs Allen as saying “Serving guests simple Irish food made with our farm’s produce in my home seemed logical,” but David goes on to write.. but at the time it was radical. 
 
In an era when Irish cuisine was considered at best a synonym for bland and at worst an oxymoron, Allen’s kitchen smashed stereotypes.

Ballymaloe Afternoon Tea

Afternoon tea is served Monday to Friday in the conservatory at Ballymaloe House from 3pm to 5pm. The menu revolves around our locally sourced ingredients with Ballymaloe’s famous homemade bread for the sandwiches, Mrs Allen’s secret recipe Dundee Cake, Anne’s delicious scones and home-made jam with cream and an afternoon cake which changes daily.
