We are delighted to be welcoming Manuel Lozano of the famous Sherry producer, Bodegas Lustau for a Sherry dinner at Ballymaloe House, on Wednesday 18th November, 7.30pm €75 including dinner paired with Lustau Sherry with each course. Lustau's philosophy has remained the same since its inception in 1896: the pursuit of the highest quality and the finest range of sherry. In recent years, Lustau has been honoured and recognised with several awards; it was named "Best Spanish Producer" in 2011 at the International Wine & Spirit Competition in London. Lustau oenologist, Manuel Lozano, has been named Best Fortified Winemaker of the Year seven years in a row by the International Wine Challenge of London. Cathedral-style wineries with vaulted ceilings and immaculate “albero” floors that stabilize the temperature and humidity to maintain the unique microclimate required by Sherry ageing. Lustau is the only winery that produces wines in each of the three cities in the Sherry triangle: Jerez de la Frontera, El Puerto de Santa María and Sanlúcar de Barrameda. The primary wine making facilities, are located in Jerez de la Frontera. The Los Arcos winery complex, built in the 19th century, consists of six aging cellars that date from different periods. Lustau has a long connection with Midleton Distillery and at the end of the Lustau Sherry dinner at Ballymaloe on Wednesday 18th November, which will have matching Sherry with every course, we will raise a glass of Redbreast 21 year old Whiskey by way of a toast at the end of the meal to the local connection between Midleton Distillery here in East Cork and Bodegas Lustau, in Jerez.
